cheat_training_group Upper Yough Training

Hi there,

For the next two months, this list serve will be referred to as the Upper Yough Training Group and emails will no longer start with Dear Cheaters… at least, those written by me.

Dear Member of the Upper Yough Training Group,

After the Cheat Festivities are over, it is time to turn our focus toward training for the Upper Yough!  We will be meeting twice a week, a week night for slalom and Saturday mornings for Dickerson.  There are also several Upper Yough trips scheduled on the calendar.

This coming week is our first week night slalom workout.  We will be holding two seperate slalom evenings, Tuesdays or Wednesdays.  Please sign up for one day and try to stick with it.  Here is a link to Doodle where you will be able to select 5/8 (for Tuesdays) or 5/9 (for Wednesdays).  Yes, if you need to switch for a week, that will be OK.  

Our Saturday Dickerson workouts will generally be 11-1.  This means that we must meet at the gate at 10:15 am.  Be sure that you have a current Potomac Whitewater card. You will also need to bring a GenOn wavier each time you go! Priority for Dickerson goes to the Sr and Jr Slalom teams so we do sometimes need to change the time or cancel Dickerson.  Please check your email for any changes.  

As of now, there are three Upper Yough trips scheduled: 5/26, 6/23, 7/7.  Tom will talk to you individually about whether it will be appropriate for you to go.  Generally, those who have passed the blue card test at Dickerson will be able to attend.  If you do not go to the Upper Yough, we will still hold Dickerson, but it will be more of an open workout than a coached session since Tom will be out of town.
