Kate, so true! I've always been concerned about the small turnout especially during off-presidential voting years. Adjusting to the new Primary Elections schedule has impacted the turnout, but concern is about people who feel they don't feel their vote counts! Don't understand how someone can think that way because voting extends to federal funding, legislation and other matters. BOEE didn't post any notices for the Primary at Pct 44, from what I heard a lot of peole did not vote because they didn't know where to go even though the BOEE sent out new voter registration cards. You just get use to a certain situation.

Gigi Ransom sent this reminder below to Ward 5 Group. See, one of the reasons I like living in Washington, DC is that I can count on the fact that a change or move of a voting place is for a legitimate reason. In Chicago, it was simply a political reshuffling and resorting of the vote for an advantage for the Machine.
Friendly reminder that the voting location for Pct 44 has been changed from the Ukrainian Church on Harewood Road TO the N. Capitol @ Plymouth Sr. Housing Apt complex at 5233 N. Captiol Street NE. Parking available at the Plymouth Congregation Church of Christ parking lot on Riggs Rd between N. Capitol & Ft. Totten Rd NE. More information below, and attached flyer has map/photo of the new location, how to get there by public transportation, and the 60-64 bus timetable. Please share the information with others."Let there be Light"

PLEASE VOTE, everyone, no matter your choice! What a great country that we do not have to worry about AK47s being pointed at us for the wrong choice. For us women, can you imagine what it must be like to be told we can't vote. For people of color, all one has to do is remember the long lines of people hungry to vote in South Africa.
