[WardFive] Re: [ward5] Power Outage

Mrs. KPW,

Since I don't have issues with Gays/Robby's Sexuality, I didn't see it as an issue.  Last I checked, Robby himself has identified himself as a Gay Black Man and since I was not demeaning/belittling him or his sexuality in any manner, I really am confused. I simply outlined the issues that he is still challenged with as a 40+ year old HUMAN.

As to what he said  -- ("Listen, save the chicken neck, finger popping, and eye rolling for someone on your level or beneath you") is belittling to every Black Woman. Furthermore, it is the very SUB STANDARD approach that many Whites use to rationalize their thoughts of  Black Women as being "less than" and it is the same core variables utilized when Black Women are looked at as being Aggressive and White Women are looked at as Assertive when they speak up/take a stance. We are not going to perpetuate this downgrade because he thinks he knows more and he is "asserting" his "superiority"!

That's why he kept his drawbridge closed and stayed in his Air Conditioned Castle where his imaginary subjects will obey and genuflect!!  And by the way, Robby ain't saying nothing that 1000 others wouldn't be saying - there is just no need to be redundant.  His VALUE is that he just happens to be 1 more to help pull the BARN down!! And if he wants to take lead on this, let him.  Let him lead the charge.  I am sure that Leroy Hall won't mind him carrying the Torch!!  There is enough work to go around to fight over who does what.

Actually, I am surprised that you didn't see this for what it is and take it as an offense.  Somewhere I think that you have the valuation of ROBBY's worth mixed up and that it is somehow worth more!!!  There are lots of people laying quietly in the forest reading who are just as and probably more valuable in some areas especially in capability and contribution than lots of us.  Remember the cartoon VOLTRON - all they need to do is connect - and believe it, it is occurring as we write!

Like I always say, Robby knows who to say what to and where. Guaranteed he wouldn't say that in PUBLIC.  I know quite a few mature, intelligent, articulate women, especially older ones who would slap the Crap out of him.  But then again, what he said just exposed his true view of a Black Woman!  And that's a Shame!!

As moderator, I must ask that we not psychoanalyze someone's rudeness based on their sexuality. Continued rudeness will not be tolerated whether or not one is doing a good job on a particular issue.

Sometimes I have to read people's comments because the remarks are sometimes over the top or they keep doing what I asked them not to do. Some challenge the moderator and try and start a coup as if taking on the moderator gets them somewhere. Some were warned in the past and continuously belittled women.

I took this time to outline the power of the operator and try to make people comfortable. We can take on uncomfortable controversial issues but must be careful talking about individuals. Rudeness is not tolerated no matter what group one identifies with.

I appreciate you trying to bring sanity to unfortunate remarks but leave the psychbabble to experts offline and let's all practice sensitivity and manners to all our readers.
Back to the issues.
