The D.C. Board of Elections has initiated the Adopt-A-Precinct program to
assist with the recruitment of technically-savvy individuals to serve as
Voting Equipment Technicians on Election Day while benefiting participating
organizations.

We encourage both non-profit and for-profit businesses, government agencies,
student organizations, community and professional organizations to
participate! Your organization's name will appear on a wall located in the
Board's office and be spotlighted on our website as a partnering
organization.

Each partnering organization "adopts" a precinct for the November 6, 2012
General and Special Election by recruiting their members to serve as Voting
Equipment Technicians at polling locations throughout the District. You
provide the technology staff and the Board provides the required training,
equipment and support. Each member can be paid up to $160.00.

Partnering organizations must provide at least two (2) workers to work at
one or more of the District's 143 polling locations. Voting Equipment
Technicians will work from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. to open the voting
equipment and/or in the evening from 7:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. to close the
voting equipment. Voting Equipment Technicians may also choose to work the
full day - from 6:00 a.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m. on November 6, 2012. We
will try to assign your members to a precinct in the area of their choice.
