DC Health Link hitting the streets and holding more enrollment events to get residents signed up before January 31st deadline
WHAT:
With TWO DAYS to go before the January 31st enrollment deadline, DC Health Link is blanketing the city to remind last-minute shoppers about the deadline and help them get enrolled in quality, affordable health coverage before the end of Open Enrollment.
"Fact Mobs" with DC Health Link assisters will be at Metro stations on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, during afternoon rush hours distributing information and directing consumers to the closest enrollment center. "Fact Mobs" are where assisters greet residents at Metro stations and pass out information, shouting out important facts about the Affordable Care Act and DC Health Link, and directing residents to the nearest enrollment center.
DC Health Link is creating more enrollment opportunities!
DC Health Link certified Assisters will be will be stationed onsite at the United Medical Center on Tuesday to provide in-person education and enrollment assistance to District consumers as well as answer questions, and provide information about Medicaid options and financial help with plan premiums. Additionally on Tuesday, DC Health Link certified Assisters, in collaboration with the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES), will be stationed onsite at DOES to provide residents with enrollment assistance.

In the last days of Open Enrollment, DC Health Link is extending the hours at FOUR enrollment centers—Whitman Walker Health, the Community of Hope, Mary's Center, and Amazing Love Health Services.

BACKGROUND: The Affordable Care Act provides individuals, families, and small businesses in the District of Columbia with affordable options for quality health insurance. DC Health Link is the District's online health insurance marketplace which allows visitors to shop, compare, and enroll in coverage that fits their needs and budgets.
Open Enrollment for individuals and families ends January 31, 2018. There are 26 private health insurance options (including 2 catastrophic plans) from CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield and Kaiser Permanente for individuals and families. Eligible residents who make plan selections by the 15th of each month during Open Enrollment will be effective on the first day of the following month. Small businesses—as well as individuals and families eligible for Medicaid—can enroll through DCHealthLink.com at any point.
