First race for me Started back so averted rhe mass carnage at decision Flipped in teardrop clocked my head good but managed to roll and stay ahead of person behind me Totally lost after high falls have no idea where I went in Maze went straight through particle accelerator and almost flipped in Pete Morgan Had a strong run in last section All in all a great race Maybe next time I can remember some lines and not do a ten mile read and run!--On Mon, May 6, 2019 at 11:27 AM 'Kim Cottrell' via LAKS advanced <upper_yough_training_group@googlegroups.com> wrote:Lol! Love your description for your short story.
My race was smooth for the most part. I had three things I distinctly remember that probably cut about 3 minutes from my time. I got stuck on a rock that was barely noticeable from the surface, while I was rocking back and forth trying to get myself off the rock about 3 boats passed me. I ended up getting 180'ed in two Eddies and watched more people pass me as I corrected myself.
Discovered someone was drafting off of me when I got into my last Eddie, I felt the boat sometimes but didn't put two and two together until she passed me as I got spun in the Eddie. That irritated me for a brief moment.
Overall, I was very pleased with my run and learned more about racing from the experience and what I need to work on to avoid the things that slowed me down. I also learned to conserve my energy trying to pass someone when the Rapids are close together because you just get bottlenecked again at the next rapid. Save that to when there is enough distance to pass them.

Re: cheat_training_group Re: Cheat race
Hello Steve-O,
I am sorry again you could not participate. Thanks for all the great training.
I had a good run. I started at the outside right to avoid the crazy start and tried to stay in contact with the front group without much success. I ran the main lines and I had a clean run.
Next year I need to take more risk at the start and also switch from the Dagger Animus to a faster boat. I'm looking forward to next year's training and race already.
Thanks again to you, the other instructors, and to Liquid Adventures for the great program!
Jim
