cheat_training_group MONDAY BOOK READING - RISA SHIMODA

Our DC local boating club – the Canoe Cruisers Assoc – and timed with Asian Pacific Heritage Month, is hosting this book reading on Monday evening. Please join, and share with other that may be interested. Risa is a dear friend, an astounding internationally renowned whitewater kayaker and fierce and effective advocate for protecting our waterways. This is her first book, about the deeply personal story of her Japanese father's American experience. With covid-triggered anti-Asian racism again on the rise, this book is both profound and timely.

I hope you can join, spread the word, and enjoy!

Please join CCA for a webinar book reading with
Risa Shimoda and Bob Fleshner

Monday, May 18th at 7 PM ET
Zoom room: https://zoom.us/j/8121709474

Authors will read passages and share their recollections about Midori and the process of researching and drafting the book

Taken by an Alien: An Immigrant Photographer's Story of Passion Undeterred by Injustice

p.s. - while not about kayaking, this story does have one boat in it, and one long lonely boat adventure....
