Rob:

This is great news!  I've known Vaughn for about 20 years and he has given much to this community.  I'd be happy to make a contribution to support Jabari.  Thanks for spreading the word.

Dear Ward 5,

Please help support this young man.  If you read what his father Vaughn presented, he is truly exceptional.  Hopefully he continues on this track, gets the exposure, receives a college scholarship where he can get exposed to the type of coaching that would possible take him to the next level.  You can also stop by the Cafe and drop donations off.  Every bit will be helpful and appreciated.  About Jabari below;

12 year old Jabari Bennett is a rising 7th grader at Argyle Middle School in Montgomery County. He has a GPA of 3.5; is a member of Boy Scout Troop 96; and spends time volunteering to help others.

Background on Jabari

Jabari Bennett is currently 12 years old and is the #1 Ranked 13 year old Shot Put Thrower in the Country and competes in the 13/14 yr old catagory.  In this Catagory, he is ranked 13th in the country.  Last week, at USATF National Junior Olympics Championships, he placed 6th overall. Considering Jabari turns 13 on December 28th, the 5 national competitors placing ahead of Jabari last week are over 2 years older than he is.  An Awesome Local Story.

Why Help!

Currently, His parent is unemployed and but earns a living teaching a few kids how to play Chess.  $857.02 was borrowed by Mr. Bennett to purchase round trip tickets and we are hoping to raise a total of $1600 to help him offset the price of these tickets, a rental car and hotel for July 30 thru Aug 2nd.  Please help us raise the funds to allow his son to partcipate in this AAU National Junior Olympic Championship event without causing hardship on the family.
