Greetings Neighbors/Community Supporters:

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Browne Education Campus for the 2013-2014 school year.  I possess over eleven years of educational experience spanning grades K-8 with a specific concentration in special education, data driven instructional planning, and educator development.  My most recent administrative experience has been shaped by 2 ½ years of successful leadership as a middle school principal (grades 6-8) and two years as an elementary assistant principal both with the District of Columbia Public Schools.  I am elated to bring my skills as an educational leader to your son/daughter's school and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

Along with staff, I will work hard to strengthen relationships with parents, students, and community partners.  We will focus on character education initiatives, reading/math growth and achievement, fostering a nurturing safe environment for children, use of data to inform instruction, consistent implementation of newly adopted direct instruction strategies to increase students' achievement, and providing exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities for all students.

I anticipate a most successful year as we work together to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child here at Browne Education Campus.

During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students of Browne the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be world class citizens ready to master the challenges of the 21st Century with a solid foundation created here at our school.  As principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!

As a reminder, the first day of school is Monday, August 26, 2013.  I look forward to working with you and your child.
In partnership,

Andre Samuels
Principal
