Gigi:
Correct on all counts. I heard that Attorney General Holder stated yesterday that the Justice Department is investigating to see if federal hate crimes charges can be brought. Stay tuned.

Bradley,
Yes, I was aware of the double jeopardy.Just wishful thinking to correct the injustice. Hopefully the Feds will be able to file Civil Rights violations and have a winning case, along with the potential civil lawsuit by the family in which Zimmerman would have to testify and the preponderance of the evidence, a lower standard would apply. The Trayvon Martin case has become the Emmit Till case of the 21st century.

Subject: [ward5] Re: [WardFive] Ch 7 News At Noon: One Juror May Have a Book DealI'm afraid not. Jeopardy has attached. If this had been discovered before the verdict was rendered, it would likely have been grounds for a mistrial but once a person has been acquitted, even proof positive of his guilt or a confession of guilt will not be grounds for a new trial on the same charges.

If this is confirmed to be true, that one of the jurors has a book deal, could this impropriety lead to a new trial? Questions to be answered, when was this juror approached about a book deal? Was it after jury selection, or before the trial started or during the trial? Divine Justice on the way!Albrette "Gigi" Ransom
