The Office of the Tenant Advocate will present Renters 101 training on Saturday, July 29,  2017from  12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. Renters 101 is designed to provide tenants in the District of Columbia with information on their rights and responsibilities. Topics will include leases, security deposits, how to handle housing code problems, landlord disclosures required by law, reasonable notice by landlord to enter property, evictions and quiet enjoyment. Tenants often have misinformation about landlord/tenant law in the District of Columbia. This is an excellent opportunity for tenants, housing advocates, agency representatives and elected officials to learn first-hand from a trained attorney advisor.

The session will be held at the Reeves Center, 2000 14th Street, NW in Suite 300N (corner of 14th and U Streets). The Reeves Center is accessible by public transportation. The nearest Metro Station is on the Green Line. Exit the African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo station on 13th Street. Bus routes include the 52, 53, 54, 90, 92, 93 and the Circulator.
