Good Evening All,

I wanted to make a couple corrections to the informative email below. Thank you Ms. Nis for forwarding, I was not included in the original email.

1. Fred Greene, III and the HU Development team have been present at the last 3 out of 6 ANC 5B Community Meetings held at Noyes, Burroughs, and Brookland ES to answer any questions the community may have had.

2. Maybelle Bennett and HU team have been accessible to the community as a whole by way of meetings, telephone calls, and email

4. This afternoon Ms. Bennett informed the ANC that the development team were taking soil samples and the community was notified immediately in real time.

5. Lastly, the meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2018 at 6:00 pm at John Burroughs ES, please attached meeting notice sent on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 and Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

Friends and neighbors, I'd like to bring two items to your attention regarding the Howard University School of Divinity (HUSD) development project.

First, tomorrow night - Wednesday, May 13 - there will be an ANC 5B02 meeting at Burroughs Elementary School. At this meting, we will receive an update about the HUSD development project - its been 6 months since we have received an update!
For tomorrow's meeting, please utilize the cafeteria entrance located at the corner of 18th & Newton Street, NE. The Burroughs address is 1820 Monroe Street, NE, and the meeting will is from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Attached is the flier with full agenda.

Second, the development team has started digging and taking soil samples on the HUSD property. As you are aware, there has been a lack of communication over the past six months (see the announcement from November below) since the development team was announced and the promise of community engagement. We have not been informed of the "new" development plans since the Urban Land Institute (ULI) proposal was shelved last year. If you recall, the community was engaged during the process with ULI in 2016, unfortunately that is no longer the case.

If you live in ANC 5B02, please attend tomorrow night's meeting to learn about the HUSD development and the impact on our community.

Taylor
