Re: cheat_training_group Re: Week 7 Sign Up

Hey everyone,

If you would like to get a race lap in tomorrow, be sure to fill out the waiver before you come (link below).  There are long boat and short boat categories, and you can do multiple entries. Info from Great falls foundation is below. See you tomorrow!

Best,
Matthew

The Great Falls Foundation and Calleva's River School are co-hosting a 'virtual race' on Little Falls of the Potomac River!

During the two week period from June 22 - July 5, you and your partner(s) will time yourselves for a sprint down Little Falls. Record your times, and enter them into our on-line form.

All participants MUST sign the American Canoe Association (ACA) on-line waiver PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST RUN. Failure to sign the waiver will result in your entry being disqualified. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS HERE WHEN COMPLETING THE WAIVER: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BVNZScV__U2VjS9A6bjbBMP3rTlfS6nLlhQf1vCs3sE/edit?usp=sharing

Read through this entire document carefully: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BVNZScV__U2VjS9A6bjbBMP3rTlfS6nLlhQf1vCs3sE/edit?usp=sharing

Everyone who participates will be entered into a drawing for prizes.

Final results will also count toward President of the Potomac series points. Standings will be based on fastest times, regardless of river level.

You may enter as many times as you want. Record your time for each run separately. Each race recorded = one drawing entry. And remember - if the river level rises, you might want to go out and try for a faster time.

River level cut-off is 4.5'. We will not count any recorded entries at 4.5' or higher.

Each racer is required to paddle with at least one partner, to act as both a witness and as safety. Your partner(s) may also race.

This event is FREE.

Ready... Set... GO!

Just a reminder to sign up for Saturday's Cheat Training by the end of the day. At this point, it looks like we could just do 1 work out, 8-11 am. Bill & Joe, can you do that?

Hey guys!

Sorry for the delay. I have created a sign up sheet for this week's Cheat workouts.

Please sign up by Thursday. It is crucial to us at this difficult time to know who is coming and have the correct number of staff scheduled. Let me know if anything is full and you need more spaces, we are just trying to keep things consolidated. We will all be in town this weekend, and head out for our last meeting on July 5th!!!

Upper Yough Training starts June 30. There are a couple of spots on the Tuesday night practices, led by Tom & Bobby Miller. https://calleva.org/liquid-adventures-kayak/advanced/trainings/upper-yough-training/
Hope you can make it!

Thanks, Ashley
