LET'S GET READY TO PADDLE! Read the whole email for a special announcement.
This week Matt and Sam are going to push you to paddle aggressively while keeping your composure, manage your boat angle, and do some hole escape work at s-turn. Please meet them at fishermen's eddy at the start time that you signed up for. If you don't remember, attached is the list. Bring Half slice if you have one, if you don't there are some that you can borrow from the trailer at anglers, shoot us a message back if you want to grab one.
In these training sessions we are putting you in tougher situations than you will find on the Gauley. We do this so that you can be out of your comfort zone in a comfortable environment instead of adrenaline peaking on a foreign river. So please try the moves that are being suggested, if mess it up, learn from it, and try it again. The only way you will be a more comfortable paddler is if you put yourself outside your comfort zone.
We will be adding New River Trips the Friday's before we have a weekend Gauley trips. Stephen Wright will be leading them. We figure that if y'all are driving that far might as well get in 3 days of paddling with a really good kayaker. Space is limited though.
