Mayor Bowser Urges Residents to Prepare for Citywide Leaf Collections Starting Monday, Nov. 5

DC Residents Should Rake Their Leaves Our for Collection on the Sunday Before Their Scheduled Collection Weeks

Today, Mayor Bowser urged residents to prepare for leaf collections, a free, citywide service provided by the DC Department of Public Works (DPW). This year, DC residents have a new option to receive alerts via text message or email when DPW leaf collection crews will be coming through their neighborhood. To receive alerts, residents can register here.

This free service is provided to households that receive their trash and recycling services from DPW. Residents are asked to rake their leaves into their tree boxes (or curb if there is no tree box) on the Sunday before their scheduled collection week.

DPW will collect leaves twice from each neighborhood between November 5, 2018 and January 19, 2019. To find out when DPW will be coming to their street, residents should consult the leaf brochure mailed to their home or visit DPW's website.

"Mayor Bowser is focused on delivering high quality services that keep our streets clean and prevents storm drains from getting clogged; and our fall leaf collection operation is vital to achieving her goals," said DPW Director Chris Shorter. "As part of Mayor Bowser's sustainability efforts, I'm also proud that the leaves our crews collect, along with those brought to the District's transfer stations, are composted. By the end of the season, we expect at least 7,000 tons of leaves will have been composted, helping carry out Mayor Bowser's vision of making DC the most sustainable city in the nation."

Due to inclement weather, delays may occur in the leaf collection schedule. Wet and frozen leaves hamper equipment's ability to properly function, and during snow events, DPW equipment and crews are utilized as part of the District's snow operations. For ongoing updates throughout the season, residents should visit dpw.dc.gov and follow DPW on social media.

Kevin

[WardFive] Vote for Adrian Jordan

Over the course of this campaign I've had the honor to knock on thousands of doors, phone bank with volunteers, speak at several community hosted forums and have been welcomed into dozens of homes for meet and greets. It has been an amazing experience to talk to Ward 5 residents everyday on the campaign trail about the changes we can make together. Through it all I've earned the support of Ward 5 champions Kenyan McDuffie (Councilmember, Ward 5) and Mark Jones (State Board of Education, Ward 5) and over a dozen Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners and community leaders. Additionally, Robert White (Councilmember, At-Large) wholeheartedly endorsed my campaign to be your next representative on the State Board of Education. While I view the endorsements from these elected officials as a sign of what we can accomplish together for Ward 5, on November 6th the only endorsement that will matter is yours.

With 1 day to go until Election Day, I humbly ask for your support. As a former policy analyst covering education, and member of the Board of Trustees at Two Rivers Public Charter School, I know that involved parents can make all the difference in their child's education. As a parent myself, I believe that parents should have an amplified voice in the education of their children, and I'm running to represent all students, parents and guardians.

Tomorrow, elect Adrian Jordan - #2 on the ballot - for State Board of Education!

Thank you,

Adrian

I know this may come to you as a surprise due to the number of scam emails we all receive on daily bases, but it is with a sincere and humble heart that I am making this contact for our mutual benefit. My name is Barrister. Steve A Crabbe of Crabbe law Chambers, specializes in corporate and legal claims, a financial legal representative to business moguls and politicians here in Ghana. I am contacting you because I believe that we can form a very lucrative business partnership. I am contacting you in regards to a deceased client Eng. Nick B.Kennedy who was a contractor with AngloGold Ashanti in Ghana. On June 2014; my client and some other businessmen were involved in an auto accident in  Odumasi close to Konongo on the Kumasi-Accra road, Before his death, my client had 1,200kg of raw golds Worth over US$50 million with a Security company here in Ghana In view of the Ghanaian Law of Succession, claims of this nature can only be made by a surviving relative/family member. Unfortu nately, he had no will at

With the applicable law of succession there is a duration within which such claims must be applied for, and as a result I am under pressure to present the next of kin or a relative who will claim the Golds, and failure to do this would legally allow the security institution to report the golds to the Ghana Treasury as unclaimed (Lack of supersede).

It is, therefore, my intention to introduce you as the next of kin/beneficiary, Please note that I'm legally equipped with all necessary information/documentation concerning the golds.
