DCPS Student Assignment DRAFT Proposal

Dear Public Education Stakeholder,

Since last October, an Advisory Committee of parents, community members, and other experts has been working with the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education to review student assignment policies, DCPS school boundaries, and feeder patterns. After months of work and community input, the Advisory Committee has developed a draft proposal for additional community discussion and feedback. The proposal along with links to supporting information are all available at dme.dc.gov/boundaries. 

To get more information and share your feedback on these proposed changes, we invite you to:

  • Attend a community meeting
    • June 16th, 6 – 8PM, Savoy Elementary School, 2400 Shannon Place, SE
    • June 17th, 6 – 8PM, Dunbar High School, 101 N Street, NW
    • June 19th, 6 – 8PM, Takoma Education Campus, 7010 Piney Branch Road, NW
  • Provide testimony at Council of the District of Columbia public oversight roundtable on school boundaries on June 26, 2014 at 9AM.  Call 202-724-8000 or e-mail  jjordan@dccouncil.us to sign up.
  • Complete a feedback form by July 21st at dme.dc.gov/boundaries
  • Email your concerns and questions to dme.studentassignment@dc.gov or call 202-478-5738
