Hi Friends,
-- As you know, Calleva has paused Cheat Training for the last 2 weeks to do our part in social distancing and to follow the direction of the CDC and the Governor of Maryland's Executive Orders. I have been out on the river these past weeks and have seen so many of you guys alone or in small groups. It has been such a treat to see you! I hope that you are all making smart decisions and taking care of yourselves.
We want to provide answers for you about what will happen with Cheat Training but also be flexible and cautious in our decision making. At this point it is clear that the "pause" will need to continue longer than two weeks. Steve-O and I have decided that we will postpone the remainder of Cheat Training until May 20, having it run through June 27th. The Cheat could be low during the month of June but we can always find something fun to run around that skill level if needed. The end goal will be to create a downriver race for our group, on the Cheat, the Savage or the Lower Yough that will put our long boat skills to the test. For those registered for Upper Yough Training, this would push those dates back as well, having it start June 30 and run through Aug 22.
You now have the option to wait until this later date and continue with Cheat Training, receive a 75% refund ($220 for Cheat, Cheat Elite and Cheat Lite as we already have completed 2 weeks), or donate the remainder of your fee to Calleva. Calleva is a 501C3 and I would be happy to provide you with a letter acknowledging donation to be used as a tax deduction. Please take some time to decide what is best for you and your family at this time and then let me know. We are understanding of how hard this time has been on everyone in the community.
Of course, this new schedule may ultimately not work either so we could be delaying the inevitability of having to cancel entirely. I will keep you updated as best as I can.
Please let me know what you want to do individually (not reply all) by emailing riverschool@calleva.org
I will continue to post workouts on the Cheat Training Facebook page. This week is our forward stroke video analysis week! If you post a video of your forward stroke you can get feedback from Calleva's instructors. Hope you can get out on the river and get some footie!
