Beat the Streets with MPD

Sur Sum Corda @ 10 M Street NW
HGDCC & the Metropolitan Police Department are collaborating to bring music, food and activities to areas throughout the District this summer. The first event will be happening is Sur Sum Corda. This and other volunteer opportunities available periodically.

Metropolitan Branch Trail Clean-Up & Beautification
Sunday, May 20th | 10AM – 12:30PM
S Street Entrance @ 400 S Street, NE
The MBT serves as a route for many pedestrians and cyclists to navigate the city. We're going to be weeding the S Street sitting area, removing weeds along the trail, and picking up litter between the Rhode Island Metro Station and the New York Avenue Metro Stations.

Eckington Community Clean-Up
Saturday, May 26th | 10AM – 12:30PM
Harry Thomas Recreation Center @ 1743 Lincoln Road NE
Join other Eckington residents at the Harry Thomas Recreation Center as we conduct our second community clean-up this year! We'll be cleaning up a two-block radius around HTRC.

Shaw Skate Park Meet-Up & Clean-Up
Saturday, June 2nd | 9:30AM – 11:30AM
11th & Rhode Island Avenue, NW
Residents are invited to bring their families, pets and neighbors out to the skate-park for breakfast, activities and a volunteer activity. HGDCC will be providing trashbags, gloves, and trash-pickers to encourage residents to tidy up the skate park.
