Facilitators are needed to assist with a Ward 5 Community Conversation on Education to be held Tuesday, July 31st from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. This event is a part of the Deputy Mayor for Education's Community Engagement Initiative and is co-sponsored by the Ward Five Council on Education, the Woodridge South Community Association, the 5th District Citizens' Advisory Council, and the Ward 5 Democrats.

We need facilitators and recorders for our break-out groups at the Community Conversation on Education, to be held Tuesday, July 31, from 5:30-9:00 p.m. at Providence Hospital. Your presence will help make the event a success!At the pre-meeting on Wednesday, July 25, you will be trained in the following:· Expand your skills in meeting facilitation and/or recording· Learn how to capture and prioritize the ideas that are generated in meetings· Learn how to deal with group conflict, dominant and shy participants, differing levels of technical expertise across a group, and other facilitation and recording challenges· Learn specific skills to moderate and record small group dialogues for a Community Conversation on Tuesday, July 31, from 5:30-9:00 p.m.· Enhance your resume by acquiring a training certificate from Public AgendaActivities will include presentations, discussion and role-play practice sessions with feedback.If you are interested in convening public forums and helping citizens discuss difficult issues, learning a new skill set or enhancing existing facilitation skills, or interested in incorporating public deliberation into your community—join us for this unique training.Please RSVP by replying (forwarding) to ward5coe@gmail.com and CCing shelagh755@gmail.com .Hope you can make it!Shelagh BocoumPublic Relations OfficerWard Five Council on Education
