Wednesday, January 28, 2015 Dear Education Stakeholders, The District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is pleased to invite you to participate in: A WEBINAR on the District of Columbia's Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Waiver Renewal Friday, February 6, 2015, from 3PM – 4PM This is part of a series of webinars designed to share information and gather input on DC's ESEA waiver renewal. As you may know, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently announced to states the opportunity to renew expiring ESEA waivers. States are required to submit an application by March 31, 2015, for consideration. ED has also required states to submit an updated plan to address equitable access to quality teachers. This plan, which has intersections with the waiver, is due in June 2015. The webinars will:

The Ward Five Council on Education is a 501(c)3 community organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in Ward 5 and citywide. The Council provides a forum for community stakeholders to share and resolve issues surrounding Ward 5 schools and works closely with the District of Columbia's education community to ensure that the quality of public schools – both traditional and charter – is exactly what Ward 5 students, parents, and the community at large deserves.
