The problem of icy alleys can be addressed if DPW would salt the alleys along with the streets. If a trash truck can get through to get the trash, so can the salt trucks. It should not be the responsibility of residents to clear alleys of ice or snow. Nor should we be subject to our trash not being picked up because of this issue. Salt the alleys!
