The Woodridge Interim Library, located at 1790 Douglas St. NE, will close on Saturday, September 3 at 5:30 p.m. The new Woodridge Library at 1801 Hamlin St. NE will open Wednesday, September 28.
The new Woodridge Library is a 20,000 square-foot library. It features:
- Spaces for adults, teens and children;
- 40,000 books, CDs, DVDs, and other library materials;
- Seating for 200 customers;
- 40 public access computers and free Wi-Fi Internet access;
- A large programming room for up to 100 people; and
- Two conference rooms to for up to 14 people.
The Woodridge Library will also be the first in the District to have a roof terrace that will also serve as a space for library programming.
During the move, Library customers can return books to any DC Public Library. Holds can be picked up from the Lamond-Riggs Library, located at 5401 South Dakota Ave. NE. Books, DVDs and other materials can be returned at any DC Public Library.
