Two Parks: One summer concert series The National Park Service (NPS) is celebrating its centennial and inviting you to "Find Your Park" with our summer concert series. Two great local parks, Carter Barron and Fort Dupont, have a long history of memory-making, spouse-meeting and open-air entertainment. Please join us for summer shows at Carter Barron and Fort Dupont from July through September. Both venues feature kick-off concerts on Saturday, July 30. Carter Barron features local artists in "Rock the City," presented by Darryl Haley. This is the first of six benefit concerts (tickets required ) with proceeds supporting the Carter Barron Amphitheatre and Rock Creek Park trails. Darryl Haley, former NFL player and NPS partner, promotes "Healthy Parks, Healthy People" through music events that support youth and veterans. Fort Dupont kicks off with "Jazz in the Park" featuring renowned artist Warren Wolf. The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington Performing Arts Alumni, featuring Tony Smalls and Friends and Bliss and Friends, will provide opening entertainment. The NPS and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington have partnered on the Fort Dupont Park summer series for the past 5 years. |
