The Department of Public Works (DPW) has been busy all summer with fall planning and we're ready to kick off leaf collection season.
Starting November 6, DPW will make two one-week passes in every neighborhood from November 6 through January 12. To ensure residents' leaves are collected they should rake or bag their leaves and place them in the tree box in front of their homes on the Sunday before their schedule collection week (or at the curb if there is no tree box). Soon you will receive the leaf brochure in the mail which details the leaf collection program. We ask for patience when there is rain, snow, or ice as these may disrupt the collection schedule.
Leaf collection is an important service for our city. The program works to keep District streets clean, prevents fires and keeps litter and debris out of catch basins, which helps prevent flooding. For your review, I have attached this year's leaf collection ward maps and descriptions.
