A 2019 Year-End Review

 

Greetings and salutations Bloomingdale Neighbors of ANC 5E08,

For the past year, I have had the honor and privilege to serve as your Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner alongside nine (9) other Commissioners of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 5E.  Not always unanimous; however, together we have reviewed, considered and voted on many issues important to you, mindful of our collective purpose to enhance the quality of life for our neighbors.  From parking to crime/public safety to flooding to race relations to recreation to education to bike lanes to zoning, to historic preservation to ethics/transparency in public service to traffic calming to support of local neighborhood businesses to community beautification and to other issues not mentioned; our mission was specific – to help keep you informed, safe and able to enjoy your home in peace and comfort.  If you did not have the opportunity to attend any of the Advisory Neighborhood Commission 5E public meetings or if may have missed one (1) or two (2), I am delighted to offer links to view the past 2019 public meetings.

While during this past year there were many moments of great excitement and joy within our community, there was one moment of sincere sadness, the passing of our friend and neighbor Sara Kaufman.  May her memory and those of others in your family, as in mine and in our neighborhood family who joined the ancestors Always Be A Blessing.

 

Looking ahead to 2020, I wish each of you Peace, Joy and Happiness.  I will always be in your community service.
