DPW’s Live, One-Hour Chat To Discuss Gardening On Thursday, April 26, 12:00-1:00 pm
· Trying to design a great garden this spring but have some limitations that make it difficult? Perhaps you have a small yard and need help selecting plants that will look best in that space. Or, you need to know what plants work best in yards with little or too much sunlight. Or, you want to assemble an eye-catching flower box?
· Need help maintaining the garden you already have… looking for the best way to keep damaging elements like bugs, animals and blossom rot at bay?
· Wondering what kinds of vegetables will give you the biggest yield?
Get answers to all of these questions and more by joining the DC Department of Public Works (DPW) Helping Hand Program’s online chat Thursday, April 26 at noon, featuring Frager’s Hardware Garden Manager Christine Mochetti. DC residents whose questions are posted (and who identify themselves by first and/or last name) will receive a 10 percent discount from Frager’s.
DPW’s Helping Hand Program helps community groups organize neighborhood clean-up and community garden projects by lending tools, trash bags, and providing free compost. Frager’s, located on Capitol Hill, has been a locally owned and operated hardware store since 1920.
To participate in the session once it has begun, place dpw.dc.gov/livechat into the search browser or visit www.dpw.dc.gov and select the “Live Chat” icon up at the top of DPW’s homepage. Transcripts of all chat sessions can be reviewed after the session by following these same instructions.
