cheat_training_group Crossing the line

Hi, Fellow Cheaters...

So the levels look great for launching an assault on Wet Bottom and winning the prize --- surf time at Rocky! But before you go...

A racer once told me that her advantage in downriver races over the competitors was her ability to use the eddies without getting spun-out. I don't know about you, but the Cheat is full of eddy lines big and small with minds of their own which constantly devil me.. So I thought my Wednesday workshop could be about how to combine strokes, edges and eddy lines to our advantage. Where can I get a little downstream boost from an eddy line? How do I keep from getting spun-out if I have to dive into an eddy? How can I use an eddy to slingshot myself from one piece of current to another? (Answer: What is an s-turn? ;-)

Join me just below Center Chute around 5:15 and we'll play with the eddy lines behind the rock that forms the Center Chute wave at higher levels. If you can't make it early, find me upstream a little later --- Wet Bottom is a great place to work on these concepts!

See ya out there...
JOHN
