Good morning Community - For your information, (& in advance of next Sat's 5B04 SMD meeting), kindly note there are two (2) DCRA notice violations issued yesterday and today regarding 3126-3128 12th Street - prospective site of "Brookland's Finest Bar and Kitchen." 

 

Both violations notices are currently posted at the prospective applicant's 12th Street entrance.  Info contained as follows: 

 

1)  ORANGE STOP WORK ORDER - Inspection and Compliance Administration, 1100 4th Street, SW

3126-3128 12th Street, NE

Issued:  4/17/13 @ 1:24PM - Inspector Badge #790

 

You are hereby ordered to IMMEDIATELY STOP all work at this building structure. 

 

You are performing work that violates the CONSTRUCTION CODE.

 

You are performing work in an unsafe and dangerous manner.

 

Work w/o building permit (roof); obtain and post proper permit.

 

Do not work at this address until you correct the violations.

 

Pay the fine amount

 

Obtain and post the required construction permits.

 

Receive approval from the Code Official to remove the Stop Work Order

2) WHITE NOTICE OF VIOLATION

Notice No. SVP1302406

 

Date: April 18, 2013 @ 10:10AM

 

Order Correction of Conditions at: 3126-3128 12th Street, NE; Square 3877; Lot 0810

 

Type of Inspection: 4-point survey

 

Responsible Party and Mailing Addresses:  Jackson Street Realty Estate LLC, 1001 Jackson Street, NE

 

Notice: "A recent inspection of the premises listed above was made by a representative of DCRA.  This notice is to inform you that the violations listed below were found on your property.  You are hereby ordered to correct these violations within a specified timeframe."

 

Violation/Law Violated:  14 DCMR Sec. 800.13 - "excessive trash, debris, and unsecured vacant property.  Hazard to human life."

Location Req'd:  Side of building

Potential Fine:  $500.

 

Violation/Law Violated: 14 DCMR Sec. 800.10 - "excessive vegetation growth including but not limited to kudzu, poison ivy, plants and obnoxious odors, weeds, grasses causing hay fever and any weed growth that causes a breeding place for mosquitos."

Location Req'd: Front side yard

Potential Fine: $500.

 

The cited violations must be abated as order within 7 days from receipt of this notice.
