Testifying

Public Input Sought in Formal Case No. 1102,

Verizon, DC's Copper Infrastructure Investigation

ATTENTION VERIZON CUSTOMERS - OPC NEEDS YOU!

If you are a current or former Verizon customer who believes your copper wire telephone service was switched to FiOS without your knowledge or consent; that Verizon may have attempted to switch your service from copper wire telephone service to FiOS without your knowledge or consent; or, that you were pressured to switch to FiOS in order to get reliable telephone service; then, the DC Office of the People's Counsel would like to include your statement describing this experience in the current proceeding before the DC Public Service Commission (PSC).

The PSC is currently investigating how Verizon will transition customers from traditional copper wire telephone service to telephone service over fiber. OPC asked the PSC to hold an evidentiary hearing in FC No. 1102 to investigate any customer allegations regarding Verizon's practices when moving its customers to FiOS.

As the public advocate for DC utility ratepayers, OPC's focus in this case is to reflect the real experiences of Verizon consumers. OPC will need to receive your statement no later than Friday, January 24, 2014, so that we can present it to the Public Service Commission as part of the record. OPC is available if you need technical assistance. Your statements will provide key support for our request for the PSC to hold an evidentiary hearing in Formal Case No. 1102.

Your statement may be sent to Mr. Arick Sears, Esq., Assistant People's Counsel, directly at:
