Hello Ward 5!
We invite you to join us, the Ward Five Council on Education, for our next meeting on Tuesday, February 18th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Lamond-Riggs Library (5401 South Dakota Ave NE).
Agenda for February Meeting:
1. Representatives from My School DC (public school common lottery) will join us to discuss the common lottery, upcoming deadlines, and other important information about the process.
2. Deputy Mayor for Education, Abigail Smith, will join us to discuss the Student Assignment and School Boundaries Review Process that is now underway. She will discuss the progress that has been made in the process and ways that parents and any education stakeholder can provide input and feedback to the process.
With all of the important information on the agenda we hope that you will join us for our February meeting and join in the conversation!

The Ward Five Council on Education is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in Ward 5. The Council provides a forum for community stakeholders to share and resolve issues surrounding Ward 5 schools and works closely with the District of Columbia’s education community to ensure that the quality of public schools – both traditional and charter – is exactly what Ward 5 students, parents, and the community at large deserve.
