Good afternoon 5B Community:
Pepco is currently undertaking numerous projects as part of our Reliability
Enhancement Plan, which is aimed at improving service reliability in
Washington, DC. As part of these ongoing efforts to improve reliability and
customer service, Pepco is replacing and or installing new equipment in
neighborhoods experiencing recurring outages; trimming trees; adding and
upgrading power lines to meet load growth; and installing advanced
technologies to automatically identify and isolate issues on our equipment.
Pepco currently has an ongoing reliability project in your community on
Feeder 14015. For background purposes, a feeder consists of power lines
that serve approximately 1,100 customers in a specific geographic region.
This project includes installing and/or replacing 5,730 feet of primary
tree wire, 38,783 feet of mainline secondary wire, 16,408 feet of secondary
service wire, 69 Lighting arresters, 214 cross arms, 254 poles, 369 animal
guards, 158 fuses, and 90 transformers. The project is taking place
primarily in the vicinity of 12th Street, South Dakota Avenue, Webster
Street, Eastern Avenue and 22nd Street, NE. Crews estimate this project
will be complete by June.
