DC PUBLIC SCHOOLS
What's your happy place?
Dear DCPS Community -
You and I both know that students should love school! When our students are happy, when they feel safe and secure, inspired and engaged, they can't wait go to school. Like every parent in this city, I want school to be an amazing place for my children. I want them to love it so much they can't wait to go back after a break or snow day.
To help us get there for all our students and all our schools, I was thrilled to announce a new $5 million award, building on a successful program we launched two years ago, called Proving What's Possible for Students Satisfaction. This new money will help schools create or expand programs that will get our students excited about school.
I'll share more ideas to improve our schools on Tuesday at my Budget Address. I'll detail our priorities for next school year, with a focus on improving middle schools, investing in struggling schools and –yes– improving student satisfaction. We have a lot in store for DCPS next year and I'd love for you to hear it!  Join me at 7:00 p.m. at McKinley Tech Education Campus.
For now, check out the highlighted schools below where students adore learning.
