Community Conversations on the DC CULTURAL PLAN
The DC Office of Planning is seeking community input as it drafts the DC Cultural Plan. When completed, the DC Cultural Plan will lay out a vision and recommendations on how the government and its partners can build upon, strengthen and invest in the people, places, communities and ideas that define culture within the District.
INTERMISSIONDC seeks to bring together residents, artists and community institutions to engage with one another on issues related to cultural development, preservation, production, expression and consumption. Through facilitated small groups and interactive exhibits, participants will share their reflections, suggestions and ideas on topics such as:
· Affirming and maintaining a DC cultural identity,
· Performance and production space needs,
· Cultural programming and innovation, and
· Regulatory reform
The Office of Planning, in partnership with the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities, will host community conversations every Tuesday in October 2016. A total of four events will be held, with one in each quadrant of the District. All events will follow the same format and agenda. RSVPs are strongly encouraged.
