DDOT will discuss the proposed locations of green spaces in the Ivy City neighborhood in Ward 5. This is an opportunity to give feedback to DDOT on the proposed locations. The Ivy City Green Project aims to bring trees and green spaces to the Ivy City neighborhood. This project will install bump-outs and trees throughout the neighborhood. Trees in an urban environment are particularly important for capturing rainfall before it becomes stormwater runoff. Tree leaves, branches, stems, and roots catch falling rain, filter out pollutants, and soak up stormwater.
