Rain is falling and the rivers are going up!!! There has been a lot of speculation as to the level of the Cheat on race day. It looks like we are going to have to wait until tomorrow to see where the level tops out.
With all this water, we want to add an extra Day of Creeking in this Saturday, May 3rd. Please reply by email if you want to join. The cost will be $120. As always, we will check out what is running and decide in the morning over breakfast. Options include Meadow Run in Ohiopyle, Kitzmiller, Laurel Fork.
Regarding the race, you should enter only if you feel confidant enough to paddle on your own. As John suggested, finding a partner of approximately the same speed as you, and looking out for one another if is good idea. We do not, however, want to have a guided group during the race. After the race at 4.5 ft two years ago, the race organizers asked us not to have a group enter with a specific leader. You should know the Cheat well enough by now to decide what your personal limits are and stick to that.
