Subject: Event for youth: find out what's in the FY 2015 budget for young people Apr. 26
To: susie.cambria@gmail.com
There's a lot in Mayor Gray's FY 2015 proposed budget for young people birth to age 24. There's operating money for education, recreation, libraries, health care, driving, utilities, housing, public and personal safety, and much more. There's also capital funding for recreation, libraries, and schools.
The young people in your family can learn more about how the budget helps them and issues they care about April 26 at the Youth Budget Town Hall. The meeting will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Charles Sumner School Museum & Archives (1201 17th Street, NW).
More information about the event is on the One City Youth website, onecityyouth.dc.gov in the "Upcoming Events" section.
Young people and their families are encouraged to take a look at the budget in advance of the meeting so they can ask questions of Mayor Gray and members of his Cabinet. Go to budget.dc.gov and look through the FY 2015 operating and capital budgets.
The event flyer is online here (in addition to on the One City Youth website): http://www.scribd.com/doc/218976335/Youth-Budget-Townhall-Flyer-4-26-14
