Join Mayor Gray for the official launch of summer at the One City Youth Initiative Summer Kickoff at Truck Touch!
The FREE event takes place this Saturday, June 7, from 9:00am-2:00pm at RFK Stadium's Parking Lot 7 (2400 East Capitol St NE).
This family-friendly event is for tots, children, and parents. Young children can climb, test out, and honk the horns of the city's equipment fleet—ambulances, fire trucks, police cars, pothole filler, backhoes, and lots more AND learn about the jobs that help make the city run. Young people and families can get a taste for some of the fun fitness, arts, STEM, and other programs being offered this summer by the Department of Parks and Recreation, DC Public Library, and a host of other DC government agencies and community partners. Older youth and adults can get information about all kinds of services and opportunities for youth and families around the city. And all can enjoy live performances on the Showmobile stage.
The flyer is on the One City Youth website (http://onecityyouth.dc.gov/event/one-city-youth-summer-kick-2014) and the One City Youth blog (http://onecityyouth.blogspot.com/2014/06/spread-word-summer-kickoff-at-truck.html).
Let the summer begin!
