Many thanks for this update of Jacob and Patrick's racing success at the Wildwater Championships. I saw the FaceBook post, yesterday, as well.

Many thanks for your, and the other LAKS instructors efforts, especially (Andrew and Tom McEwen)  in your hard work, coaching  and mentoring the LAKS Youth Program, to bring this group of paddlers to a high skill level, early in their lives.

This is a laudable, success!

I hate to brag but I am going to do it anyways.  No, y'all know I love to brag about how well the youth group kids do. 

LAKS youth group paddlers Jacob Siegel and Patrick Khaghani just got back last week from competing in the Junior Wildwater World Championships.  They got invited to worlds by being the best in the United States.

Jacob is the NATIONAL CHAMPION with a 1st place finish in Sprint and a 3rd place finish in the Classic race for the 1st place overall. Patrick was 3rd overall with a 1st place finish in the Classic and 4th in Sprint. They were incredibly self motivated this summer and trained really hard.  Jacob and Patrick helped me with summer camps.  They would go out and train after camp.  I would go home and take a nap.  

To quote Jacob about Nationals, "We'll be back next time......and faster!"

Youth Group:  Listen to Jacob and follow his lead.  I think the LAKS group has the possibility to dominate the Wildwater scene.

Thanks to all that have helped instruct and coach them throughout the years. There are too many to list but you know who you are.
