[WardFive] Join your neighbors in improving Langdon!

Good morning neighbors,

Thanks to those of you who attended last week's monthly Langdon Park Community Association meeting - we had a great turn out! (see attached). Thanks to Sarah Fashbaugh from ABRA and Lt. Rivers from MPD 5th District for serving as our guest speakers.

See attached July newsletter. Activities and events we encourage you to get involved with:
  • Truck Traffic in Langdon Park: The Notice of Intent is now available for public comment "up to around September 7, 2015." http://ddot.dc.gov/service/ddot-notice-intent This is your chance to review DDOT's recommendation which focuses on additional signage to address industrial truck concerns. I cannot stress enough how important it is that if you are affected by overweight and industrial vehicles you take the time to comment before any new measures are put in place. If you need assistance crafting your response or need additional information, please contact Kevin Mullone (kjmullone@aol.com).
  • Beautification Day: The Langdon Park Community Association will hold its first beautification day on Saturday August 15 at 10am. Juice and fresh donuts will be provided, along with trash bags and gloves. We will focus on the streets closest to the industrial area. Please contact Rhys Gerholdt to sign up (rhys006@gmail.com). A Starbucks gift card will be raffled so don't miss your chance to win a free cup of your favorite joe!
  • Cookout: Mark your calendar for Saturday September 12 for Langdon Park Community Association's first neighborhood cookout! We need help with organizing the cookout, including securing sponsorship from neighborhood businesses, planning games, organizing the menu, spreading the word in the community, etc. Please contact Kevin Mullone to get involved!
