cheat_training_group Paddling Ahead

Hey all,

We are past the half way point of Cheat Training! Can you believe it? I hope you all have built up your endurance and are feeling stronger! The next few weeks since you won't be as tired through the workouts we would like you all to focus on technique. every stroke you take ask your self "Is my paddle vertical enough,", "Am I using positive strokes?", "Can I rotate my torso more?", "Can I use few strokes to attain Center Chute?". These are questions I constantly am asking myself, they are also points I work on every time I go paddling. 

When we all go out and paddle today I would like us all to explore Md, Va, and Center Chute. Go to MD and Va chutes and surf. Center Chute should give us the opportunity to attain several different ways. 

Steve-O's Challenge: Attain up center chute race down MD chute with a friend, attain a different way up center chute, race down Va chute. Do those loops a few times and see if you can improve your time each lap. 

The past few weeks we have been racing to get to Wet Bottom, waiting there, and haven't spent enough time in the chutes. There is really a lot of work to be done there and fun to be had. We will be meeting at Wet Bottom at 7:30 to race down to Anglers Inn altogether. These sessions are meant to push your comfort zones in terms of endurance and strength. If you leave early because you are tired you are not getting everything you can from them, so please try to stay till the race. 

Our theme this week will be technique. If you feel like you need to work on your technique, but not sure what needs to change, ask one of our instructors to give it a look. 

Tom will be ready to get on the water at 5 today. Look for me in the parking lot to check in.
