Thanks for the intel on cell reception and map, Jen!
Ashley, I forgot to mention that I won't be able to make it to the class this evening.
See some of you this weekend and the rest next week.

Dear Fall Trainers heading to Gauley,--You are going to have sooooo much fun!!Attached, FYI, is a map of the roads to the put-ins, take-outs, and festival. The road markings can be unclear and phone service is sketchy at best. I keep a few of these maps printed in my car, and downloaded on my phone so I can access it offline.I also go to the AW website and access the directions to the put-ins and take-outs, and then take a photo of them so that I can access them offline. And, get cell phone numbers of your shuttle and river-running pals. You can usually get a text through, but email almost never works around the river and shuttle roads.Have fun - I look forward to stories and pics when you get back.-jen sassOn Tue, Sep 13, 2016 at 10:07 AM, liquid adventures <laks@calleva.org> wrote:Hi Fall Trainers,This coming weekend is our first Gauley Trip! Get excited, 'cause it's Gauley Fest, too!! Steve-O and Tom will be leading you this weekend. They are driving up Friday and we will be camping both nights at Tawney Farm (directions here). We plan to eat breakfast in camp so plan to bring food for the morning and to make yourself a lunch to eat on the river. We want to leave the campsite at 9 am.You can also chose to drive up Saturday morning. You will need to be at the put-in to the Middle Gauley, Mason's Branch, at 9:30 am. (directions on AW).We will eat dinner out on Saturday night. Sunday the group will split. Plan to eat breakfast at 7 am at Mabel's Restaurant in Mt Nebo so don't stay out too late!!!The group going so far is Bill and Helen Geary, Jon Zeidler, Lisa, Mike A, and Ucilia. We are not planning to go to Gauley Fest. If you guys want to stop by Saturday evening or even camp there and meet us in the morning, that is fine. Please just let us know your plan- when you will arrive, whether you will camp at Tawney Farm, how many nights. I need to let the campground know how many to expect. If you guys want to work out carpooling, we can start a seperate email chain. For the rest of the Fall Trainers, Jen Sass will be leading a workout on Saturday 9/17, meeting at 9 am at Lock 5 again. Please do email whether you will come. Thanks & have a great weekend!Ashley McEwan
