Please see the notice below that, this Saturday, June 17 at Brookland Middle School, Councilmember McDuffie will provide opening remarks at the NXG Leaders Teen and Youth Town Hall Meeting, held in conjunction with the SoSoSUMMER 17 Tour. The Town Hall will feature artists from the Lifetime show 'The Rap Game' and be moderated by advocate for peace, trauma survivor, and Ward 5 resident and native, William Kellibrew and co-hosted by Jermaine Dupri and Michael Mauldin, CEO of Scream Nation. This event is aimed at young folks, primarily in the middle school age.

Washington, DC – Councilmember Kenyan R. McDuffie will provide opening remarks at the NXG Leaders Teen and Youth Town Hall Meeting, held in conjunction with the SoSoSUMMER 17 Tour. About NXG Leaders/Teen and Youth Town Hall

NXG Leaders' is a one-hour Teen & Youth Town Hall program that takes place on select cities alongside the SoSoSUMMER tour. The program is conducted as town hall meetings, free of charge and features artists who are part of the tour as celebrity panelists. The atmosphere is a moderated presentation that creates an inspiring dialogue between the artists and the attendees, creating a peer-to-peer conversation.

 

NXG Leaders is a philanthropic program that was created eight years ago and designed to impact our nation's youth in a socially conscious way.  By effecting positive change in the community while inspiring our youth to be positive leaders of tomorrow, the nation as a whole will continue to thrive, our youth's future will be brighter and hopefully with their influence the world will be a better place.

 

"The Rap Game" debuted January 1, 2015 on Lifetime and after three seasons the series has introduced to the world 15 young stars.  "The Rap Game" is currently on hiatus but is set to air its 4th season this Fall on Lifetime Fridays at 10pm/9c.
