Subject: Buses replace Red Line trains between Rhode Island Ave & Fort Totten tonight beginning at 10:00 p.m.
Due the on-going Monroe Street bridge DDOT renewal project near Brookland, buses will replace Red Line train service between Rhode Island Ave & Fort Totten to allow for the demolition of the old portion of the bridge. Starting at 10:00 p.m. until system closing tonight – Monday, March 26 – buses will replace Red Line train service between Rhode Island Ave & Fort Totten.
Train service will be available in two segments – (1) between Shady Grove & Rhode Island Ave; (2) between Glenmont and Fort Totten. Bus shuttles will serve Rhode Island Ave, Brookland and Fort Totten stations every 15 minutes. If you are traveling to/from downtown DC stations, consider using the Green/Yellow lines between Gallery Place and Fort Totten to avoid the work zone.
Also please note, the last train from Glenmont in the direction of Fort Totten will depart 30 minutes earlier than normal.
