It's just one day. I just hope they have some supervision by adults.  Just my opinion. I don't make the rules or enforce them.  I myself don't like noise but I know the kida enjoy it.

Only some types of fireworks are illegal.  Anydays, there are 360+ days in a year. Can kids have this type of fun on one? Hell, there is not much they get to enjoy!

Also, lots of times kids takes cues from their parents on being terrified of varuous things. My daughter was somewhat scared at 1.5 yrs and I just continued to comfort her but shared how beautiful it was. The next year she loved it.

Same with the last two thunderstorms and blackouts.  I told my wife not to react and act as all was normal and Sarah was fine after like 1 minute. The second thunderstorm, she just said, "look daddy, it's raining hard"! So I understand some kids are not as easily consoled but a parent has to also believe!

If people are teaching fear, they should take a psychological look at what they are doing. This also relates to other more social aspects of everyday life that "fear" gets transposed!

Don't call 911 and waste our police's time.  There are more important things for them to be available for.

Happy 4th of July!

I have started to dread the 4th. On our block and many others blast off
fireworks that are illegal and dangerous. Last year it went beyond 11pm and
way past my kid's bedtime. My son is now terrified of fireworks. For the
past two years I have called 311 but they never come. Any advise? or just
let it go for one day of fun for some and me picking up another shattered
picture that falls off my wall from a blast....
