cheat_training_group 110 Miles in 24 Hours

Hi LAKS friends,

Rally behind slalom kayaking with FUNDaNEE!

As a boater and sportsperson in the Washington, D.C. area I believe you will find my upcoming project interesting. To raise money for my upcoming 2013 World Cup and World Championship season I am doing an epic fundraiser entitled "FUNDaNEE". On Monday, Memorial Day, I, along with the team of Eric Brooks, Scotty Parsons, and Todd Henry, will be  attempting to paddle from Fletcher's Cove to the mouth of the Chesapeake at Point Lookout State Park. 110 miles in 1 day (well, hopefully no more than 24 - 30 hours).

The money I raise goes directly towards my two trips to Europe to go up against the fastest women in the World. I will be racing the first three World Cups( 6/12-7/8 ). The second trip I will be racing the fourth and fifth World Cups as well as World Championship (8/11-9/16).

Anyone will be able to follow our progress via twitter #FUNDaNEE or via Facebook by liking my athlete page. This also allows people to send back messages of encouragement and motivation. USA Canoe/ Kayak and Liquid Adventures Kayak School will already be re-tweeting the messages from the water. If you have a Twitter or Facebook account we would love for you to join in.

It is important to me that the community come together and cheer on the slalom athletes this summer. How can you help? Spread the word! Send emails, post on Facebook, re-tweet an update and check out my website www.FUNDaNEE.comThrough this site people can donate funds or airline miles. It has a lot more information about my mission and I will be posting updates there for the rest of the summer.

Also, we are still looking for sea kayaks to borrow. So if you know of any not being paddled on memorial day please let us know.

Thanks, wish us luck,  and cheer us on!
