Four of the schools being closed next month are offered for long-term leases, defined as 25 years or more.  These are Winston and Ron Brown in Ward 7 and Ferebee-Hope and MC Terrell-McGogney in Ward 8.  Two more are available for short-term leases, apparently for up to 25 years.  These are Marshall in Ward 5 and Kenilworth in Ward 7.

During the school closing process, DCPS stated that the system would "work with" or "collaborate with" the community on identifying reuse to benefit local residents.  Was there any consultation with the Education Councils of your ward?

Certainly long-term leases were not what the community was told during the closing process.
