IMPORTANT MESSAGES
March 17 through April 28, the disinfectant used for
drinking water treatment will temporarily switch from
chloramine to chlorine. During this time, you may notice a
slight change in the taste and smell of your drinking water.
Chlorine levels are monitored daily and will continue to
meet safe target levels.
Individuals and business owners who take special precautions
to remove chloramine from tap water, such as dialysis
centers, medical facilities and aquatic pet owners, should
continue to take the same precautions during the temporary
switch to chlorine.
The temporary switch in disinfectant is a standard practice
to maintain high water quality throughout the year. To
minimize a chlorine taste or odor, flush cold water taps for
two minutes, refrigerate cold tap water or use a water
filter. For more info, contact the Drinking Water Division
at (202) 612-3440.
DC Water payments will no longer be accepted at the Union
Station Branch of Premier Bank located at 50 Massachusetts
Ave, NE as this branch will close permanently on April 25,
2014.
