The Council provides a forum for community stakeholders to share and resolve issues surrounding Ward 5 schools and works closely with the District of Columbia’s education community to ensure that the quality of public schools – both traditional and charter – is exactly what Ward 5 students, parents, and the community at large deserve. An evening reception and art auction showcasing a selection of DCPS student art, special presentations, and guest performances. Proceeds will benefit DC Ed Fund and the arts in DC Public Schools.

Bidding on over fifty pieces of original artwork begins tomorrow at:www.501auctions.com/dcedfundartnightStudent artists from pre-Kindergarten through 10th Grade have donated their masterpieces to the Auction.The participating schools include: Anne Beer Elementary School, Ballou High School, Barnard Elementary School, Fillmore Arts Center, Horace Mann Elementary School, Incarcerated Youth Program, Lafayette Elementary School, Martin Luther King Elementary School, Patterson Elementary School, School Without Walls, Sharpe Health School, Stuart Hobson Middle School, and Thomas Elementary School.
