Subject: On Behalf of Monica Warren-Jones: Seeking input on Draft Parent Bill of Rights

Dear Fellow Education Stakeholders,

The State Board of Education's Parent and Home Engagement Committee recently drafted a Parent Bill of Rights to serve as a framework for the development of parent involvement standards to be adopted by the State Board. Ultimately, the goal of the Parent Bill of Rights to promote effective parent/school partnerships and to share with parents and guardians the responsibilities that schools have toward them.

Consequently, the State Board's Committee on Parent and Home Engagement seeks your feedback and comments on the enclosed draft of the Parent Bill of Rights. We are committed to developing the Parent Bill of Rights with the input of education stakeholders, including parent and community leaders.

Please send any feedback or questions to Amaya Garcia at amaya.garcia@dc.gov or you may reach us by phone at 202-741-0888. We thank you for feedback and shared collaboration to ensure educational excellence for children across the District.

Sincerely,

Monica Warren-Jones
