[WardFive] DC Innovation Opportunity Program @ THEARC

Please review and pass along to someone who might benefit from this opportunity.

1776, TDF Foundation and General Assembly are sponsoring the DC Innovation Opportunity Program to introduce up to 35 DC residents (specifically those living in underserved communities) to careers in the technology field. Participants need to apply to attend three introductory workshops that will take place at THEARC (if accepted into the program applicants must attend all three all-day workshops). After the workshop series, five participants will be selected for a 12 week full-tuition scholarship to the General Assembly Immersive Program that will take place at the 1776 offices downtown. From there the five scholarship winners will have an opportunity to apply for a six-month paid apprenticeship at Microsoft, Capitol One or MedStar.

Applicants for this program must:

  • Be a high school graduate or have a GED
  • Have at least two years of college or work experience
  • Demonstrate a strong aptitude for software coding and design

There isn't a flyer, applicants need to apply online at this link: https://generalassemb.ly/apply/dc-innovation-opportunity-program. I'm not sure but I think the deadline to apply is June 12th. General Assembly and 1776 are handling the selection and notification process.

If you can spread the word to eligible applicants that would be much appreciated.

From the General Assembly website about the program:
